ANNUAL

REPORT

staty
HoneywellArts-2 (8)_edited_edited.jpg

Every year, we look forward to the Annual Report as it offers us a wonderful way to reflect and share with the people who make our work possible. Your belief in our mission fuels every performance, every workshop, and every connection created through the arts.

While numbers tell part of the story, they don't always capture the full impact. As you read this information, we encourage you to pay special attention to the quotes our guests have shared over the past year. They add a human dimension that statistics alone simply can’t express.

The milestones and measurements that mark our progress are still included, of course! They represent not only growth, but opportunity - more students discovering their creativity, more audiences gathering together, and more shared moments that leave a lasting impression.

And it's all possible thanks to people like you. The list of supporters at the end of this report is more than recognition; it demonstrates a shared belief that the arts are a vital part of our society and our future. As you read your name, please know of the important role you play in shaping these experiences.

Thank you for your continued support, your advocacy, and your belief in the power of the arts to inspire, educate, and bring people together.

Our Mission

Arts, education, and entertainment for all.

Our Vision

The Honeywell Foundation, Inc. will be the vibrant, fresh, and consistently relevant cultural hub of Wabash and the north central region of Indiana. With its world-class performing arts programming, innovative and expansive educational outreach, and attractive and well-maintained facilities....

Arts In Ed

Arts in Education

H_White.png

A collection of programs for students and educators to reap the developmental benefits of the arts in the classrooms.

Highlights

The arts have a proven, substantial impact during formative years by improving academic performance, motor skills, confidence, creativity, focus, and collaboration. Honeywell Arts in Education helps educators reap these benefits through a variety of programs.

Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is a nationally recognized program that brings trained Honeywell facilitators into classrooms once a month, using visual art to spark discussion while strengthening students’ critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and writing skills. VTS currently serves 162 classrooms across 21 schools in five counties, including all elementary schools in Wabash County and an expanding reach in Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) in Allen County. Kristi Unger, Honeywell Director of Education, was even invited to speak at the FWCS board meeting, during which she shared metrics demonstrating the impact and success of this amazing program. Learn more about this impactful program.

Other education programs include Arts Integration Teaching Artist Residencies, an approach that connects an art form with a classroom subject, engaging students in an exciting new way to learn and retain knowledge; a songwriting workshop with GRAMMY-nominated songwriter Steve Seskin, and art shows and competitions. Education programs are offered at little or no cost to the schools, thanks to the generosity of people like you!

As a complement to these Education offerings, 2025 saw the introduction of Youth Arts Month, a collection of free special events celebrating the talent of the next generation. During two Saturdays in March, a variety of family art workshops were offered, and partnerships with schools and local organizations helped present student artwork displays in the Clark Gallery, music and dance performances, and the annual Wabash County Honors Band & Choir performance

The impact

93% of teachers reported that VTS had a "tremendous" or "substantial" impact on student thinking and learning.

"an essential skill"

"Visual Thinking Strategies helps students realize there is more than one way to see the world, an essential skill for lifelong learning and citizenship."

"tremendous improvement"

"I've seen tremendous improvement in my students' critical thinking, providing evidence, and communicating ideas. We've seen the VTS process and skills used in Social Studies, Math, and Reading.”

New opportunities included free musical events such as Open Mic Night and Acoustic Guitar Jam, giving musicians and vocalists of all skill levels the chance to perform on stage for an audience of friends and family.

Music and voice lessons experienced exponential growth, increasing from 10 students last year to 48 individuals from five Indiana counties for multi-week, one-on-one instruction with experienced musicians and vocalists. The program nurtured skills for all ages, including 19 adults and 29 students.

Seven Honeywell venues and numerous partner venues enhance our patrons' experience and create a memorable atmosphere.

Highlights

Our venues are a vital part of preserving our rich history while ensuring that we continue providing an inspiring space for arts, education, and entertainment.

A new enhancement to the Ford Theater experience was the remodel of a Box Suite, a private area sometimes used for stage lighting. When not used for production, the two areas are available for seating. One area was transformed with new décor, carpet, and the installation of two comfortable, reclining seats.

Extensive planning for the renovation of the Honeywell House took place during 2024-25. Several months were spent assessing the needs, consulting with preservation and design professionals, and exploring ways to thoughtfully update the space while honoring its historic character. This planning laid the groundwork for enhancing both the functionality of the house and the overall visitor experience, and renovations officially began in January of 2026. Learn more about the renovation.

Our Venues

Honeywell Arts & Entertainment venues include seven locations in Wabash: Honeywell Center, Eagles Theatre, Honeywell House, Charley Creek Gardens, Dr. Ford Historic Home, 13-24 Drive In, and the Clarkson House. These venues serve as the home to most Honeywell offerings and are available for private rental.

Partner Venues

Honeywell continues to partner with venues across Indiana and Ohio, offering expertise, leadership, and services ranging from booking talent to guest relations and marketing support. These relationships benefit venues through enhancing community engagement and viability, and increase opportunities for both the venue and Honeywell to secure a wider range of talent, providing a competitive edge against ever increasing competition.

Partnerships

Partnerships enhance impact, expand resources, and create unique and mutually-beneficial opportunities.

Highlights

In addition to partner venues, we collaborate with other businesses and organizations in mutually beneficial ways. Over the summer, Honeywell returned for a second year as a presenting partner for the Fort Wayne TinCaps Pregame Concert Series, which included a presence at select games, offering the opportunity to interact with a new audience.

Honeywell also enjoyed a Fort Wayne presence during Taste of the Arts, an arts and culture festival presented by Arts United. A hands-on art project at our booth allowed us to connect with and engage families in a creative activity that showcased our commitment to arts education and community involvement.

We were also honored to be invited to participate in the Wabash County YMCA Wellness and Lifestyle Expo and the annual Wabash Cannonball Chili for Charity, which has designated Honeywell as one of its beneficiaries for more than 20 years!

Other relationships like Honeywell programming sponsorships, Visit Wabash County, and Downtown Wabash, Inc. strengthen our programs while enhancing the visibility and engagement of our partners. These collaborations help further our mission while offering partners the opportunity to align with a vibrant and successful organization well-known in the region.

The Honeywell/Heartland Media Arts Program is a collaboration between Honeywell Arts In Education and Heartland Career Center, offering students the opportunity to earn dual high school and college credit in photography, video/sound production, and video editing, with an emphasis on preparing them for college and professional careers.

Our ongoing partnership with VetTix provides show tickets for military veterans to reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, build life-long memories, and encourage service members to stay engaged with the community and American life. The popularity of the inaugural trip (and the strong interest in future experiences) led to multiple planning sessions throughout 2024–25. As a result, a September 2026 trip is now officially on the books! Learn more.
