Honeywell Arts & Entertainment Announces New Events at the Honeywell House

Events include Style Show, Holiday Floral Arranging, Mark Honeywell’s Birthday Bash, and more

Honeywell Arts & Entertainment adds new events to its lineup at the Honeywell House. Admission for events is available online  or by calling the Honeywell Box Office at 260.563.1102. Events with free admission require reservations due to limited seating. Reservations can be made online or by calling the Honeywell Box Office. Honeywell House programming is presented by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service.

 

A venue of Honeywell Arts & Entertainment, the Honeywell House is the former home of Mrs. Mark Honeywell. The historic residence offers a variety of artistic, educational, and musical offerings ranging from recitals to lectures and outdoor dining events.

 

Tastes on the Terrace – Every Wednesday through October, reservations start at 5:00 p.m.

Enjoy a light menu on the outdoor terrace overlooking the beautiful grounds. Drinks available. Reservations are required to provide the best experience for all guests. This series is sponsored by Nancy Fisher, with additional support provided by Richard Tucker.

 

Guitar Crossroads – Thurs., August 7 at 7:00 p.m.

Enjoy an evening of music with guitarist and Honeywell Music Program Manager Jake Bunnell as he shares a dynamic mix of gospel, country, rock, and more. This laid-back performance promises heartfelt tunes, great energy, and a few unexpected musical twists. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating. This event is sponsored by Bunnell Land Surveying.

 

Mississinewa 1812 – Thurs., August 28 at 7:00 p.m.

Heather Allen Hoover will share exciting updates on the new permanent home of the living history event and efforts to rebuild the largest live-action War of 1812 reenactment. This presentation promises insight, stories, and inspiration. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

The Copper Tooth – Tues., September 2 at 7:00 p.m.

Garrett Chatham will share the story behind the transformation of a charming bakery into an eclectic, bi-level bistro. Learn how a creative vision became a unique destination, as Garrett discusses the journey from concept to reality. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

Inflammation and the Aging Brain: A New Understanding – Thurs., September 18 at 7:00 p.m.

Dr. Shamma Rahman, Assistant Professor at Manchester University, shares how lingering inflammation may affect memory, mood, and clarity as we age. Learn how the immune system shapes brain health. No science background is needed - just curiosity about the powerful connection between body and mind. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

Acoustic Voodoo Garden – Tues., September 23 at 7:00 p.m.

This four-piece band from Rochester, Indiana, is known for an eclectic folk sound and energetic performances. The group features Wabash’s own David Doud and has a local following. This is an outdoor terrace concert. Please note that there will be no rain date. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating. This event is sponsored by Doud's Countyline Orchard.

 

Surviving the Holocaust – Tues., September 30 at 7:00 p.m.

Holocaust survivor Irene Miller will share her personal story of survival - a powerful journey featured in the PBS documentary Irene, Child of the Holocaust, chronicled in numerous articles, and detailed in her book Into No Man’s Land: A Historical Memoir. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

Opera Today! A Facelift for an Old Art Form – Tues., October 14 at 7:00 p.m.

Many people believe opera is too elite and antiquated to thrive in today’s world - but Opera Today! is here to change that. Launched in August 2024 by Executive and Artistic Director Debra Lynn, the company is flipping old stereotypes with fresh, relevant productions that speak to modern audiences. Hear about the musical adventures Debra has planned for the region and how they’ll help grow our economy and engage the community in delightful and surprising ways. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

Shaping the Future of Medicine – Thurs., October 30 at 7:00 p.m.

Discover how groundbreaking science at the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research drives novel cancer therapies, leading to start-up companies and advancing promising drugs into clinical trials. Join Deputy Director Andrea Kasinski and Director Andrew Mesecar as they showcase Purdue’s leadership in translating research into medicines that improve patient outcomes. Trick or Treat at the Honeywell House – Fri., October 31

Bring your ghosts, goblins, and little angels by the House during Wabash’s trick-or-treat hours for a spook and a treat! This event is sponsored by Chittick Insurance.

 

Style Show – Thurs., November 13 at 7:00 p.m.

The Francis Shoppe will present the ‘Best of Autumn and Winter’ showcase featuring seasonal trends. Discover captivating color palettes for the upcoming months, ensuring you stay ahead of the fashion curve. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

Telling Your Story: Marie Coffman – Tues., November 18 at 7:00 p.m.

From her childhood in the Oregon forests, through life in the heart of Indiana, and in the vibrant streets of Nicaragua, Marie Coffman has built a life shaped by creativity, resilience, and a passion for building both homes and communities. Her journey is marked by travel and the renovation of older homes and reflects a deep commitment to renewal and new beginnings. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

Holiday Floral Arranging – Sat., December 6 at 10:00 a.m.

Jennifer Love-George of Love Bug Floral will guide you in creating a seasonal arrangement at the Charley Creek Gardens. With limited space, be sure to make your reservation soon! Admission to the event is $40 per person - covers all materials. Reservations and advance payment are required. This event is sponsored by Crossroads Bank.

 

Happy Holidays! – Tues., December 9 at 7:00 p.m.

Rick Elliott and Ron Orman return for another wonderful evening filled with classic holiday music. Rick’s piano arrangements and Ron’s vocals will bring the spirit of the season to each of us. Admission to the event is free; however, reservations are required due to limited seating.

 

Mark Honeywell’s Birthday Bash with the Brits – Fri., January 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy an evening of fun and frivolities with an English flair. Delicious food and great entertainment will help us celebrate Mark Honeywell’s 153rd birthday in style! Admission to the event is $55 per person. Reservations and advance payment are required.
